Message from the Superintendent - Current district information.

Parents,

Verdigris Public Schools is communicating with parents of students who are juniors during the 2019-20 school year.

Verdigris Schools has selected the ACT for the College and Career Readiness Assessment to be administered to all 11^th grade students during the OSTP testing window.  Our district plans to administer the ACT test in the spring of 2020 to eligible juniors as part of the state contract with the Oklahoma State Department of Education and ACT.

Last year over 95% of Oklahoma schools selected to administer the ACT.  Our district believes this is an excellent opportunity for all eligible juniors to take the ACT at no cost to them or their families.

Verdigris High School 

Euell Hanna's Retirement Celebration will be on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at 3:30pm in the HS Commons Area. Please come celebrate with us! 

Verdigris High School Graduation will be Friday, May 17, 2019 at 7pm at the Union Multi-Purpose Activity Center (UMAC) located at 6836 S. Mingo Rd., Tulsa, OK. 

Baccalaureate will be Sunday, May 5, 2019 at 3pm at the First Baptist Church of Verdigris.

Congratulations to the Verdigris High School Jazz Band!  The 2018-2019 Jazz Band has brought home our 27th State Jazz Championship!

All 10-12th grade students are invited to the "2019 Who Works the Rivers Career Event" at the Tulsa Port of Catoosa.  

When:  Tuesday, May 7th from approx.  9am-2pm

Where: Tulsa Port of Catoosa

What: This is a time for high school student to learn about career opportunities on the river.  We will have the Coast Guard, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, ODOT Waterways and may companies along the waterway here to discuss these great opportunities.  The students will rotate in groups through a workshop format in the morning and then have a Port driving tour and barge ride in the afternoon.

*** REMINDER***  As stated in the student handbook, starting April 17th students with neg balance will not be allowed to charge a lunch.  Please make sure your student's lunch account has a positive balance to finish the year.

Congratulations to the Verdigris High School Academic Bowl team.  They reached the semi-finals and placed 4th at the OSSAA Class 4A State Tournament.
